Remembering Oak Ridge Digital Archive and Exhibit
The Oak Ridge division (1933-2014) at the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care was Ontario's only maximum security forensic hospital served by both the criminal justice and mental health systems. The exhibit opens the locked doors of this 81-year history to dispel the misconceptions and stereotypes that surround forensic mental health care centres and their patients. The site also contains a digital archive of 400+ artifacts, photographs, documents, and video.
The project was completed as part of a Postdoctoral Fellowship co-hosted by the Research & Academics Division of the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
